Teotihuacan: Mexico City’s Best Day Trip

Located only 40km away from Mexico City, the whimsical Teotihuacan, also known as the City of the Gods makes a fantastic day trip away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Getting there is easy, get to Terminal Autobuses del Norte located on the metro (line 5) and buy a return ticket to Teotihuacan (approximately 45 minutes each way). Go early to avoid crowds and the midday sun.

According to legend, Teotihuacan is where the Gods planned man’s creation though many of the artifacts have been moved to the outstanding National Anthropological Museum in Mexico City proper.

The site is vast with both the Temple of Sun and temple of Moon giving tremendous views of the surrounding hillside.
